When I started at the FA in 2014 I used to sit in close proximity to Mike and he helped me settle in during my first months. Mike was a kind-hearted, funny and quiet man, who had a seismic impact on English Football during his time at the FA. I'll always remember Mike helping me out with a handover for the England C team (on his own time and when he didn't have to), and for always picking up the phone whenever I rang with a question. I'll always remember his last day at the FA as we had a bear hug (as he called it) and I'll miss doing Tesco shopping runs for him at lunchtime. Rest in peace Mike, you were taken too soon and I hope your family are okay in this time. (Tom Hutchings-Hay)
