Mike, my boss!

Created by Steve 3 years ago

Mike came down sometime around 1996 to my local non-league club, Northwood FC, for which I was the football secretary. We had asked Mike down to provide us with his knowledge around ground grading and FA grants that were available at the time. At the end of the meeting, he said 'you should think about applying for a job with the FA'. In 1998 I received a letter and a phone call from The FA's HR team asking if I would be interested in applying for a Grants Officer role.  Three interviews later, all which were attended by Mike, I found myself working for him at the Potters Bar offices. Those first few years before we moved to Soho Square will be ones I'll always remember fondly. What a team and what a man leading it (not always from the front), but with the knowledge he was always there to help you if need be.

A terrific footballing man, knew everything there was about non-league football, and a very kind and humble person too.

Thank you Mike and you will be truly remembered by so many.
